Clay Adventures with Susanna Italiana

What a great month of learning the art of original Italian Maiolica from Susanna Italiana, who studied the art of painting on pottery in Italy! Bloomington, Indiana is a very art-full city.

December in the Studio

At this time of year the sales are over for me and I have time to create in the studio until classes start again in January.
A corner of the studio, which is normally filled with Ben's Bells, is empty and the shelves of pottery are almost bare. That means it has been a wonderful year. We have hung 1100 bells spreading kindness in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina. The Farmer's Market sale in Greensboro was a good one. The Historical Museum in Greensboro is now selling my manhole cover platters. Looking forward to a great 2012.

A Time for Work

What better way to celebrate the Labor Day holiday than working in a medium that I love. Taking a clay class with Po-Wen at Art Alliance was great fun. There is always more to learn...stay tuned.

Leaning on the Post

After a summer of travel and "leaning on the fence post" I am back in the studio feeling inspired and creative. I'll keep you posted!

Ben's Bells

What an exciting day. Yesterday 8 bright, artistic and kind women came together to kick off the Ben's Bells project in the Triad area. Our first belling is planned for High Point in the spring. Check out www.bensbells.org for more info on the project. Send an email to me to find out more about our Triad connection, too.

2011 What's on the Horizon

Happy 2011. Who know's what is on the horizon for the new year! As artists we are constantly reinventing aspects of our art and lives. This year I hope to move my work in some new directions so I am committing less and hope to be creating new forms. Stay tuned.
